Session CALs are automatically distributed to users if the user did not have a Named CAL or Document CAL assigned. They can be assigned to authenticated and anonymous users.
A Session CAL has a minimum session duration of 15 minutes.
To track Session CAL usage, review the QlikView Event log for lines such as:
“CAL usage”, “Releasing session CAL for user [user name] on machine [machine name]”
Environment:
Details:
When a user consumes a Session CAL for a duration of 15 minutes or more. When the user leaves, is the CAL immediately available for the next user?
Yes. Sessions that terminate after 15 minutes will consume their actual session length.
NOTE: The session is not terminated when the browser is closed, it will wait until the idle session timeout.
If the user use the close button in the document itself the session will be ended immediately
What happens if within 15 minutes the user closes the browser/document, is the session CAL be reused?
Yes, within 15 minutes the same session cal will be consumed on the same QlikView Client.
