In certain scenarios, it is necessary to create additional Windows local accounts for Qlik Replicate and Qlik Enterprise Manager to provide a user the minimum required access level.
This article outlines the steps to add a Windows local account in the built-in Guests group.
Resolution
- From the Windows start menu, open compmgmt.msc
- Expand Computer Management > System Tools > Local Users and Groups
- Right-click Users, then select New User from the context menu
- Create a new local account, entering a username and password
- Right-click on the new user account and select Properties
- Open the Member Of tab
- Remove the default Users group
- Click Add and type Guests in the text field
- Click Check Names and then OK
- Open the Qlik Enterprise Manager (QEM) console and log in with an Admin account (has the admin role)
- Add the new Windows local user account to the QEM user list. The new user can be assigned any QEM permissions, such as the Admin, Viewer or other roles.
- Logout from the QEM console
- Now log in using the new local user account:
