Qlik Compose - Workflow setup to continue on error

This article is to make everyone aware of the existing option in Qlik Compose to have the workflow continue running even if one of the tasks in between errors out.

 

Environment

• Qlik Compose for Data Warehouses 
• Qlik Compose for Data Lakes 
• Qlik Compose 

When defining the workflow and linking the stages, we have regular gray on right side of task which is for regular processing and make sure workflow continues in ideal happy path without errors. 

There is one other option which we don't usually observe is the red connect option, as per the screenshot below which we can choose to continue the workflow if the current task errors out.

We need to use caution though if the next task is dependent on the data accuracy of the current one. Running the next task if the current one errors out for genuine reasons might cause data corruption issues.
