Using Test Connection when testing a connection to a Teradata source or target endpoint leads to the Qlik Replicate server crashing. Any tasks using the Teradata source endpoint or Teradata target endpoint cannot be started.

Errors:

ERROR: check_async_command_complete failed
ERROR: Cancel async command failed.

The issue occurs only with Qlik Replicate hosted on Linux. Windows installs are not affected.

Environment:

  • Qlik Replicate 2023.11 GA (2023.11.0.159)
  • Teradata TTU and ODBC version 17.20 (builds 17.20.04.00 - 17.20.21.00)
  • Teradata Server 17.20

Resolution:

Fix:

The issue is caused by a compatibility conflict between ODBC Driver Manager and Kerberos libraries. No permanent fix is yet available. Qlik is actively working on providing a solution. Review the release notes for QB-23862.

Workaround:

  1. If at all possible, run Qlik Replicate 2022.11. This version is unaffected by QB-23862.
  2. If Kerberos is not used, rename one of Kerberos-related .so files:
    1. Run: cd /opt/attunity/replicate/lib
    2. Run: mv libgssapi_krb5.so.2 libgssapi_krb5.so.2ORG
    3. Restart the Qlik Replicate service

Cause & Internal Investigation ID(s):

QB-23862, #00129279, #00128123
