What would be the EOS for May 2022 (12.70)?

what will be the impact to users when support is stopped, can they continue to use the QLIKVIEW?

@sledison The support for 12.70 will be for 2 years after it is released, as detailed here: https://www.qlik.com/us/-/media/files/legal/license-agreements/additional-terms/on-premises-products...

@Michael_Duval  Is there any way Qlik could extend the standard support lifecycle for Qlikview by 6 months? The way that new versions are released annually, combined with the 2 year support means we actually have to upgrade every year, as it takes several months for us to upgrade and test all environments before our Production environment. You have the shortest support lifecycle in comparison to all other similar software companies.

hi!

Can we expect that QV12.50 Support is extended? As no QlikView 12.70 was shipped last week, according to the table in the article only QV12.60 is currently under support.

Thx,

Roland

@alistairross We have the same problem. Due to the short support cycle I'm have to update our whole environment every year (before it was every two years).

We've waited at least one year after a release for installation, so it can mature. We often had problems with new versions so we are very careful with new version and are testing it thorougly.

I've already asked if they can't do an Long Time Support Version like other software vendors have. But I didn't get any answer.

I think it's related to their roadmap. They try to get everyone in the cloud so you don't have any on premise installations and problems with installation.

But I'm little bit frightened with a switch to the cloud, since you don't have time to test a newer version and to file a bug report or find a workaround for problems, before installations.

Kind regards

Peter

Hi @peterwh

Thanks for your reply. When I asked for longer support I was told to ask out Account Exec, who didn't reply.

We don't have an option to go to the cloud as we are contractually obliged to keep data on premises (we are a SaaS platform).

With the extra work now involved in upgrading twice as frequently, it just means it is starting to become cost effective to move our development away from Qlikview.

Thanks @Chip_Matejowsky but I want to know when the first Service Release will be available, not the Initial Release....Are there any planned dates for SR1?
