Windows Authentication: What's the difference between a "system user" and a "local system account"?

Hi,

When it comes to Windows Authentication, what's the difference between a "system user" and a "local system account"?

The Attunity Compose service is currently set to "Local System" in the services page of Windows.

I am a bit confused about the two types of accounts.

Hi @jblomqvist ,

Please check the below URL, which contains information and explanation about the System User and Local System user:
https://www.serverfry.com/2019/03/what-is-system-accounts-in-windows.html#:~:text=The%20SYSTEM%20acc....

In regards to Compose:
You can configure Qlik Compose to log in to Microsoft SQL Server using Windows authentication
The Compose service by default is being executed by the system user – So you need a user to run the service.

Hope that helps and answers your concerns.

Regards,
Adam
