Dirrerence between LeftJoin,Applymap and Exits

Hi All,

I need to know the difference between left join ,applymay and exits.

through applymap.. we can pass default value but same we can do with if condition in join and exits.

so, why we have applymap and exits function?

what we can do with join which is not possible by applymap or exits?

kinldy suggest.

I think you mean the Exists function, not exits. Yes, you can use a join to do the same thing as you can with Applymap and a mapping table. But it's often better to use the Applymap function. The Exists function usually isn't involved. See this blog post for more information: Don't join - use Applymap instead‌. And the accompanying technical brief: Joins and Lookups

Thank you Gysbert

one more question....

What is the difference between join and keep. both work same only keep creates two table but join only one but the result is same.

so, why and where we should use keep?
