Max(RecordID) AS MaxRecordID to find te last row

Hi,

I have been analyzing ways for lowering incremental loading times, and it seems that the above is so slow, that I might even opt for full load from the DB source and not from QVD.

? Thanks,  J

You don't need Resident Load, that part of taken care by AutoGenerate and this is what makes it quick. It will look at the distinct set of values within OrderID field to bring the highest value.

May be use the fieldvalue method laid out in this thread:

Re: Max(RecordID) AS MaxRecordID to find te last row

So if I have the following 10 million rows QVD - Orders.qvd

Instead of using Max, I should be doing the following?

LOAD

       Max(FieldValue('OrderID',RECNO())) as MaxOrderID

       AUTOGENERATE FieldValueCount('OrderID');

So where am I picking it from? - Shouldn't I have a 'Resident Orders' statement?

Thanks
