The concatenation of a string and a variable should be considered as a field

Dear all,

Let me explain you my problem when working with qlikview. On the one hand, I have a table with two columns called '%Ad-Hoc Reporting Dimension_ES' and '%Ad-Hoc Reporting Dimension_PT'. The first one contains a list of dimensions in Spanish and the second one those dimensions in Portuguese. On the other hand, I have a variable (vApp.General.Language) which contains always a value, either ES or PT.

I´m trying to create the following variable: vAppTest='%Ad-Hoc Reporting Dimension_'&vApp.General.Language. '%Ad-Hoc Reporting Dimension_' is just a string and the concatenation of both of them should be considered as one of the FIELDS of the table aformentioned. Unfortunately it doesn't work.

I would really appreciate if anyone could help me. Thank you very much in advance.

Best regards,

Gonzalo

Re: The concatenation of a string and a variable should be considered as a field

Try a calculated dimension with a dollar sign expansion:

=$(='%Ad-Hoc Reporting Dimension_'&vApp.General.Language)

Maybe this is helpful: Handling Multiple Languages.
