One of the cool things I love about working with data is that very moment after a few minutes exploring a data set when you discover something unexpected in a chart or when you stumble upon a fact that makes a difference and it all becomes clear to you.

I've experienced that "aha moment" quite a few times and still makes me feel good.  When that situation happens I feel in the urge to share my discovery with the world, so I blast my colleagues, friends, and pretty much everyone I talk to.

If the sudden discovery finds you using Qlik Sense I have some good news for you, it’s called Single Configurator.

The Single configurator is a Qlik Sense feature that provides an easy way of creating simple mashup pages without having to write any code at all. It returns a Qlik Sense object, which is identified in an URL. The Qlik Sense object is typically a visualization from an app, for example a Bar chart.

To get access to the Single Configurator functionality you just need to open your favorite browser and type your Qlik Server* url followed by the word single, something like: https://<ServerName>/single.

Once you are here you should get access to all of you hub's apps. The next step will be picking one of the apps and then choosing the object you want to share.

Notice that you have access not just to each one of the app’s objects but to the app’s sheets and even to the snapshots.

Single Configurator also provides you with three very useful options, you can pick whether or not you want to include the current selections bar, and you can turn off chart animations and/or interaction.

If you are still thirsty for more options please check the developer help webpage. In there you will find ways to pass selections in the url, apply bookmarks and more.

So now it’s up to you how to share your discovery. You could copy the chart url and share it via email with your peers or you could iframe it in a webpage as we did for Valentine’s Day app. (http://valentines.qlik.com/)

Qlik Sense features the “aha moment” out of the box, so you just need to focus on finding that thing that went unnoticed for the rest of us and share it with the world.

Enjoy Qliking!

AMZ

*For those of you who still doesn't have access to a Qlik Sense Server you can still see the Single Configurator in action. With Qlik Sense Desktop running, you access the Single Configurator via the following URL: http://localhost:4848/single.

amz‌ When I click through the link to the Valentines site, I am not able to see any of the visualizations. It does not load Qlik sense correctly.

I am trying to put together a demo for my company but, I have not been able to find a very straightforward workaround with Qlik sense desktop.

Henry,

Valentines site is working fine to me, it's true that sometimes it takes a bit to load the charts, so please be patient. For that demo you are working on, I would recommend you to share the issues you are encountering with the community creating a new topic so anyone can contribute with different ideas on workarounds.

Hi,

I have embedded some sheets in my website. I can work with them but can't maximize (as i can do in the hub), and the mouse's right click do not shows the options for exporting data etc.

Is this the right behaviour?

Users can only access the apps via website so here there is a lack of funcionality.

Hi Juan Carlos,

That's right, working as designed. For more advanced charting capabilities such as full screen toggle, export data and much more I would recommend you to follow fka‌ (Qlik Design Blog ) and jvs‌ (Qlik Design Blog ) both have been posting very interesting stuff around Qlik APIs.

Sorry if noob here but I can not find the answer online and have not heard back from support;

I need to do exactly as you have described above, but can not find a way to get my app on a Qlik server. It appears that only my local host is an option.

Hi,

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

I'm facing a problem while doing this, I'm not able to see the title for any of the sheets.

Can any one help me.

Hi Arturo,

I went through all those posts on Qlik Blog and couldn't find anything related to adding Export data capabilities to charts in SSO embedded apps.

Also, all my extensions are requesting for username/password in SSO mode. Do I need to do something to avoid that?

Qlik sense native objects are working fine in SSO and don't prompt for credentials.

Hi ar eiuiew

Is your problem solved?

I am facing a similar problem while trying to integrate Qlik sense Single configurator in a web application.

Please let me know if the problem is solved.

Hi
The problem that I had at that time was an extension called Sense Export which wasn't working with SSO.

You need to add the virtual proxy prefix to the redirect link in the source (Java script) files of the extension.

simple as that, problem solved!

Hi
thanks for quick response.

"all my extensions are requesting for username/password in SSO mode" is my exact problem.
Instead of avoiding that, I want to pass them to the corresponding URL while integrating sheets in a web application.
