How can I refer to a field of a certain table

Hi,

Suppose, I have two tables (Budget and Brandlist) in my model. These two tables share a common field Brand.

Values in the field Brand in the Budget table:

A

B

C

Values in the field Brand in the Brandlist table:

A

B

C

D

E

F

G

In case I create a listbox, I'd like to base it on the field Brand from the Budget table and to display only those brands which are available in the Budget table (A,B,C). I don't want the other brands to be displayed in my listbox.

How can I do it? It's not clear how I can refer to a field from a particular table while creating an expression in QV model.

Thank you in advance.

Re: How can I refer to a field of a certain table

Hi Larisa

You don't have such an option with the associative model.

What you can do though, is to load your Brand field again in your Budget table, giving it a unique name throughout the data model.

Then, you'll be able to refer to the specific field, from the specific name.

Example:

Budget:

LOAD

...

Brand,

Brand as BudgetBrand,

...

FROM

...

And then refer to the BudgetBrand field, that will contain the Brand values from Budget table.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

maybe

you can load the budget table first

and then load the brandlist table, only the Brand already loaded

In this way you only have A B C brands in your field
