Can we kick off two nsq files at the same time

Hi All,

Currrently we are on Qlikview Nprinting 16 SR4. My question is my nsq files are scheduled at the same time. But they are choking each other when they are running. And another scenario is within the same nsq file i have two tasks kicking off at the same time. Can anyone help on how to avoid this.

I am on 16.2. As far as I know the NPrinting engine does not support multiple threads. It is sequential. If you have multiple tasks, then it will be finished in sequences (first come first serve).

I tested it and it took sometimes to finish 5 tasks. The five tasks are identical, and at the end I asked to send me an email. I only got 3.

Vinay,

As Alex said N-Printing 16 is single thread 32 bit. So you have to kick off the job's sequentially. Not sure if you can use task dependency like we do in QMC. After Task1 finishes run Task2, something like that.

Where as other option would be to upgrade to 17, which i believe it is multi thread and can run parallel.

another question can we schedule two nsq files to run at the same time and pointing to the same QVW file. Sorry asking to many questions.

I never scheduled that but I think theoretically it is feasible.

However, if they are pointing to the same QVW, why can't you make them in the same nsq? (just curious)

That way, it may be faster for the NPrinting engines.

Suppose if we want those tasks to be executed the at the same time i was thinking of the possible approaches. Thank you for the heads up and information.

Hi Vinay,

Using versions 16.x and earlier, the only way to run two tasks at the same time is to set up two NPrinting servers on separate machines each with it's own license and licensed instance of QlikView Desktop.
