Cant create a connection with qlikview server

Hi guys, I have two qlikview servers (one for production and another for tests) and one N-Printing Server, all of them in september 2017 version.

I am successfull when I try to create a connection between n-printing server and qlikview test server, but when I try to create a connection between n-printing server and qlikview production server the "run verification" fails.

You can see some prints and logs bellow:

1. Qlikview Test Server - PRINT

1.1 Qlikview Test Server - LOG

Written Diagnostic Data Connection

"ConnectionString":"navigator=qlikview;documentpath=\"qvp://server/dash.qvw\"",

Any idea?

If you ignore the Run verification error and you Save the connection, is the cache generation working correctly?

Hi Thiago,

I suggest you try these troubleshooting steps with the connection that fails: Error with new qlikview server connection

Hi,

Please follow the suggestion of the error message:

- has your QlikView server a valide and active license?

- has your QlikView server at least a valid document? If yes, is it available for the user you are using to connect?

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi, Ruggero!

- has your QlikView server a valide and active license?
YES!

- has your QlikView server at least a valid document? If yes, is it available for the user you are using to connect?
YES, YES!

Both servers have license (production and test). The "run verification" pass when I use test server in qvp but it fails  when I use the production server.

Hello, Daniel!

Steps from the link:

a) OK!

b) Qlikview desktop version in:

- N-Printing server (september 2017): 12.10.20600.0 SR8

- Qlikview production server: 12.10.20600.0 SR8

- Qlikview test server: 10.10.20600.0 SR8

c)

i. OK!

ii. I am using DMS. I have changed to NTFS but it didnt work too.

* The test server uses DMS and it works!

d) OK!

The strange thing is that it works in the test server...

I must be some small detail that i am not seeing...

Hi Ruggero,

The log says "qlikviewServer:4747 did not answer before the expiration of the timeout interval of 00:00:05".

Do it possible to increase the timeout interval when connecting to a Qlikview app using QVP protocol ?

Hi,

Thanks!

So, in the Qlik NPrinting Engins computer open QlikView Desktop with the same Windows domain user that runs the Qlik NPrinting Engine service (shift+ctrl+right click and select Run as a different user). Then try to open the .qvw you want to use in Qlik NPrinting connection. You must be able to open it (in fact you are manually doing the same actions that NPrinting does).

Let us know the result.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi,

No, it is not possible and increasing the timeout is a non-sense. If you reach the timeout it means that there is an issue that must be investigated and removed. If you set a longer timeout you simple need to wait more time until the issue appears.

Ruggero
