Creating Excel Reports With Multiple Sheets Through PixelPerfect and NPrinting

Hi,

I'm trying to create an Excel report in NPrinting using PixelPerfect (have to use that instead of Excel due to limitations with Excel functionality). I need to dynamically create a chart through the NPrinting interface as usual and then have another sheet added with glossary terms. Basically I need to create an Excel report through NPrinting with PixelPerfect and generate more than 1 sheet. Has anyone done anything like that?

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Kaushik,

I've been through the PixelPerfect tutorials, but I can't find the answer to this there. I haven't been able to find any really god tutorials on PixelPerfect and Excel except for examples to build basic reports.

Thanks anyway,

Scott

Hi Scott,

You can set your Behavior | XLSx Export Options | Export Mode to Single File (Page-by-Page)

Curious to know what Excel functionality limitations you are referring to. If you want to just create an index sheet with clickable links to each page take a look at this (currently only possible in version 16): Index on page loop excel

Thanks Daniel. That's very helpful.

The main limitation I'm running into right now is adding print page headers and footers to the report. I can add Page Header and Page Footer bands, but they are added to the actual report and not the print headers and footer, so they only show up on the top and bottom of the overall page.

Also, I would like to be able to set the Print Scaling in Excel so that a report will automatically be setup to print at 65% scale.

If you know the answers to any of these questions, I would appreciate it. I've been trying to teach myself to use with software with help from the Internet, but I haven't been able to find much help beyond the basic tutorials noted above.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

In the Excel Template you can select Insert > Headers & Footers

add logos, page numbering etc., and this will appear on every printed page.

You cannot use QlikView fields/variables or any other objects here.

With PixelPerfect you will need to RMB > Insert Band > PageHeader and/or PageFooter

You can use QlikView objects here.

Hi Daniel,

I'm working in PixelPerfect, so I don't have the option to create headers or footers through Excel.

I added Page Header and Page Footer bands to the template, but they are included in the spreadsheet when I create an Excel report from the Pixel Perfect template. I need these to be added to the Excel header and footer instead. From what I can tell, this isn't possible.

Thanks,

Scott
