Does NPrinting have the same function as IT-Service Management Tools

Hello community,

my company is about to think to purchase the NPrinting Server + Qlik SMB Server. I know that NPrinting can automatize creating dynamic reports and send them via email as .pdf, .doc, .xls, html etc. But does NPrinting have the same function as an IT-Service Management Software?

Maybe I can explain it with some use cases.

We would like to have a web bases software (SaaS-System) which can

- predict expiring contracts by defining a notice period where the system can check ( if(remaining_term=6, send contract cancellation documentation to a manager via email and confirmation request)

- waiting for confirmation request

- escalation management ( if(confirmation request term > 2 weeks, send an email to manager and add supervisor in CC, if(confirmation request term > 4 weeks, send an email to manager and add supervisor and CFO in CC)

- if(confirmation request = TRUE, set contract status = 'cancelled') the confirmation request must be edited by the manager in the SaaS-System

Or maybe does Qlik have a software which have the same function as an IT-SM Software?

You should ask an NPrinting demo to a presales in order to explore all your specific needs. I think this is the better approach. With a pre-sales engeneer you can discuss abou all your specific needs.

Qlik NPrinting is the advanced reporting system of Qlik and it distribute data from QlikView or Qlik Sense. It is not a ticketing system, but it has a set of APIs that let you to extend the system with your custom software, for example. Or you can use conditional reporting to deliver a report only if a specific condition happens.

To make the thinking more clear :

NPrinting work only as an add-on on Qlikview document , the above logic you need to build it in Qlikview and should have all the necessary chart and data . Then on top of this conditional emails recipient could be achieved  in NPrinting by pulling the charts and formatting

You could create a QlikView table that contains a row for each contract that is expiring than you can create a daily NPrinting report that contains the list and send it via email.

You can also insert some expiring contract details in the report for example by using levels.

If you have two different levels of alert you could create two QlikView tables and two different reports. Of course reports can be sent to many different recipients also based on filtered data.

How does it work with confirmation? Somehow it should work as a ticketing system. As long as the manager does not confirm the cancellation by clicking on a confirmation button the process stands still. The button should trigger the next process. Is this possible in Qlik Nprinting?
