Excel Template - filtering out '(blank)' values

hello guys

PFA

on the template...sheet 'Temp Storage for Pivots'....I have '(blank) ' values. the pivots that I am referring to serve as source for the graphs on the first 2 sheets.

I dont want to display the '(blank ' values on the graphs. now,if this would have been a manual process, I could just manually filter it out, but since these objects will be growing in size (more months to be added etc), I cant do this manually every month.

is there any way I can create a 'static filter' that always filters this out?

thanks!

Hi Lorna,

You can use where clause in your load script to exclude the rows like below,

Where FieldName<> '(blank)'

Could you post your script here?

Re: Excel Template - filtering out '(blank)' values

Hello Tamil

Thank you for your reply.

The ‘blank’ does not come from the data...it comes from the Nprinting table objects. When you ‘mark’ the data on the named sheet, you need to mark the blank line below the data as well, otherwise you only return one value.

That;s where the blank comes from..

thanks

Hi Lorna,

I think you need to use excel macro to unfilter the '(blank)' rows. I have a very little knowledge of Nprinting, so I am not sure whether we can filter this out in Nprinting itself.

Hi Lorna,

Can't you use a "deleterow" at the end ?

Re: Excel Template - filtering out '(blank)' values

Hello Robert,

Sorry for the late reply

Please find attached...I am not sure where I should use the delete row in this instance...

I use the table from QV, then I create a pivot Chart re reproduce the format the customer wants.

thanks

Re: Excel Template - filtering out '(blank)' values

Delete row goes (for instance) in the template in the data sheet worksheet rows 5, 9...

Thank you for your reply.

Does it matter where in the row (which cell) I stand when I select delete row?

I think it needs to be in column A, but try another column first to see what happens so you don't need to re-work you whole template
