Filters in Nprinting with wildcard

Good afternoon I need to make a filter that uses wildcards like * or%, that is to say that it makes the functions of a like as in SQL.

It is possible to do this filter in Nprinting. ???

with all due respect: If it was discussed so many time over so many years... why isn't it fixed yet?

If there is a great demand, shouldn't it be included?

I am sitting currently with one of the biggest German car manufactures and have to explain to them, that NPrinting 17 can not perform the simplest filters like >=, <= or "bull*".

Is was possible in version 16 but not in 17... why exactly is that?

You answered, that it is not possible - but why? And when exactly will this feature gap be closed?

Hi Daniel,

I think you misunderstood Daniels response regarding this topic and that it was already discussed. It means that solution for your question is widely known, available and does not require additional feature in NPrinting to get it done. All what it requires is little bit of searching to learn how it can be done.

I am sure that feature you are requesting will be available soon as a native NPrinting feature too. I cannot tell you when as this is not available yet in any TP version. Qlik is implementing features as per clients requests. As a Partner who also works with many clients I was closely watching this process and i noticed that features which do not have workarounds or could not be achieved in any other way were added to the tool in the first place. Your feature request is "nice to have", but it is not a "must" since it can be achieved in many different ways.

For one of the biggest car manufacturers in Germany you could use workaround to achieve the same without telling them that NPrinting is not able to do something - end result is exactly the same. To me the question is: Can it be done? Answer is: Yes it can!

Advanced search filters are on the roadmap for June. Please note that we have been filling the gaps from NP16 based on what we hear from customers. Many of the gaps filled in the most recent releases (e.g. On-Demand reporting for Sense, password protected reports, task notifications, variables in emails) all had higher priority based on customer feedback.
