How to Change Nprinting Service Account

Currently we are using Same Service account for both qlikview and Nprinting 16, There are Many jobs already created in Nprinting, since Nprinting was hanging very often we need to change the Service account now. Please let me know how to change the Nprinting Service account now and what will be the impact on the existing jobs.

Hi Poppy,

The new service account must be set up to have access to all the resources (like QVWs, Data sources, destination folders, Template files, Recipient databases/files etc., etc.) that the NPrinting project(s) require in order to work. In addition it needs to have a QlikView Desktop License and other privileges like "logon as a service" and be a member of the local Administrators group. Take a look at this article: Configuring and Troubleshooting NPrinting Server Service and Schedules

As far as backups go, it is always best practice to have a backup procedure in place. For NPrinting 16.x, it's just a question of making backup copies of all the files that make up your NPrinting Projects (NSQ/ReportTemplates/Any recipient databases/QlikView Documents/Pictures/External Request XML files/Batch files for running NPrinting via command line/Configuration files etc., etc). Hopefully you have them all in sub folders under a main NPrinting folder so it's easy to maintain (and backup/restore).

in nprinting 16

all you need to do is open

Nprinting server manager , stop the service

enter the new account details and restart the service

Thanks for your suggestion.

Since we have many jobs created and Nprinting is accessing QVW's from different folders, what will be the impact of changing the service account, Could you please suggest on this.

if the new service acount will have access to all your folders and Qvw apps

than there should be no effect on the jobs
