How to manage a report with calculation condition in NPrinting?

Hi all,

I have a pivot table in QV which is using calculation condition, it calculates the expression only when the user gives a date for CY and a date for PY in two variables, these variables are used in my set analysis expressions. On document open these variables are empty. When I am trying to use this pivot table in NPrinting report it's empty due to the empty variables, how can I give dynamically values to the variables in NPrinting so it could generate the report properly?

Regards,
Eleni

My recommendation would be to create a new object in the qvw without calculation conditions (it could also be feasible to create a new qvw just for NP purpose with only the data/objects you need).

Hi Eleni,

I agree with Johan. It is best practice to create a dedicated document for NPrinitng reporting. more info here:

You did not give us details which NPrinting version you are using

Just to summerize - regardles if you keep the same or create new application for NPrinting still you will have to change the variable definition (chaneg it to expression driven by field selection--> NPrinting filter based on field) change pivot table expressions to operate on fields (not variables)

cheers
