I'm new to Qlikview NPrinting, now I'm using the NPrinting 17.1, I just want to send e-mail to myself to test the function. But I don't know how, I also saw the tutorial of NP 16 and some threads about the sending e-mail issue, and didn't find a method to solve that.
I have created a task, I think my problem is also in SMTP server. My configuration is :
I'm using the office365 SMTP server, so I think I can't check the server log and the username and password is mine, the default sender is my email, I think that's fine.
After I run the task I can saw the log in nprinting_scheduler.log :
|Qlik.NPrinting.Repo||220.127.116.11||Qlik.NPrinting.Repo.Service.ReportPublishingService||20160707T200941.338+08:00||INFO||LPMAIOLOSZHAO||Nprinting Task Identity||0||0||0||0||0||0||0||0||Send e-mail for bucket 813971d5-5658-4744-9b22-53caeaf66ba0|
and I can't get the e-mail, the user is me, so I think if it's ok I can get the email after task run.
I just want to know what I need to do? I really want to solve this ASAP.
If you need any other information please tell me.
are you trying to send the email to your gmail ? if so might have problem with that check with your comapny email...have you checked the SMTP server is working fine or not
Thanks for reply, actually I have let my IT colleague to check, he said there is no error, if there is, he will receive the e-mail about that, and we can't check the server log, because I use the office365 smtp server.
And I also created another user using XXXX@163.com, and didn't get the e-mail either. My e-mail is fine I think, because I'm using it now.
Are you also using the smtp.office365.com in NPrinting? Or what else do I need to check?
we have lots of experience with NPrinting since their version 14 and until v16 the Email setup with Google or other SMTP services was straight forward. I just spent several hours with NP 17.1 and could not get sending emails to work until I configured the SMTP role on my NPrinting test server: Setup and Configure SMTP Server on Windows Server 2012
Not sure if this helps you but the fact that Google SMTP configuration used to be easy before v17 and currently does not appear to be working (at least for me) might give you the idea to test with different SMTP servers.
