Dear Guys,
When I'm design a nprinting report in some case I forge add a filter before execute a preview. I would like to be able to cancel that task so as not to wait for the timeout.
Is there a way to cancel the preview process while it is running?
Hi Lech,
NPrinting Designer preview will respect User, Report & Object level filters.
Gustavo,
As Lech mentioned, NPrinting July 2018 introduced an option to Abort a preview process. If you are on an earlier version you can end the NPrinting Designer process in Task Manager. If you have the time to spare, I suggest you allow long running preview processes to time out instead (10 minutes).
HTH - Daniel.
what version of NPrinting? In July 2018 there is bew solution for this, which allows you to continue work on your template since the preview is running as well as abort Preview.
However in Nprinting 17 you cannot add filters to preview.....so i guess you refer to v16.X?

Hi Daniel - since when is the preview functionality changed in regards to respecting User and Report filters in NPrinitng 17+?
I was under impression that it did not work this way and to test it i had to run task instead as preview was timing out..
thanks
Lech
Hi Lech,
When required I have always added a filter to the report, user or the object itself to ensure testing is done against a limited amount of data. AFAIK NPrinting 17.x has always worked this way.

Hi Daniel,
you are absolutely right that filters are applied when previewing - I must have brain freeze.
It was however mentioned in documentation of NPrinting February 2018 for the first time.
regardles - thanks for correcting my mistake!
cheers
Lech
Thanks Daniel and Lech!.
I will update to the new version. I am currently on the February 2018 SR1
