Is there any possibility to exclude the Newsstand Data from a NPrinting backup?

Hi team,

Is there any possibility to exclude the Newsstand folder from a NPrinting backup,. We do NPrinting backup daily, Daily backup size is 50 GB.

We are publishing some heavy reports to Newsstand and keeping reports there up to 180 days. We are trying to reduce the NP backup size.

This is the folder which consumes 50+ GB space "C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\apps"

what are the possibilities is this case?

Thanks,
Rohit

Hello @rohitk1609there is not an option to exclude files related to published reports from the backup (or other specific parts from the backup). You can maybe reduce their size by deleting or reducing the days to keep and reports to keep parameters in New Stand.

The "Days To Keep" property specifies how long a report should be kept. I would treat this as a minimum value. This is because Qlik may keep the report for longer. So, this is the minimum number of days to keep the report. Qlik NPrinting will not delete the report before the number of days specified plus one.

For example, if you specify 15 as the Days To Keep value, Qlik NPrinting will delete the report on the 16th day.

The "Reports To Keep" property specifies the number of versions of a report that should be kept. Treat this as a desirable value.

Hope this helps 😊

Hi @rohitk1609

Interesting question. Your requirement is not documented so the only way we may know this would be to ask at the source.

What do you think @Ruggero_Piccoli?

Hi,

You cannot select what to include in the backup file but they are normal zip file so you can save or move them to a custom folder and save space on the C drive.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
