MultiDoc NPrinting 17.5 Qlik Sense

Hi everyone,

I have 2 Qlik Sense apps and I am trying to merge them into a single NPrinting Excel report (add one table from each QS app). I am using NPrinting 17.5 and I do not seem to have any option to add more than one connection. So it's either SQ App1 or QS App2 noth both. It seems to be 1:1 relationship despite of what the connection rules say.

Has any of you managed to get this to work?

Connection rules for Qlik Sense apps

The following rules apply to connections to Qlik Sense apps:

  • You can create connections from a single Qlik NPrinting app to multiple Qlik Sense apps.
  • Connections are not shared between Qlik NPrinting apps. If you want to connect the same Qlik Sense app to multiple Qlik NPrinting apps you must create a connection for each.
  • You can only create one connection between a Qlik Sense app and a Qlik NPrinting app.

Thank you

Adina

Hi Adina,

You need two different NPrinting Connections (one each to the two Qlik Sense Apps) belonging to the same NPrinting App. In other words, when creating the NPrinting Connections to the two Qlik Sense Apps, give them different names but make sure that you select the same NPrinting App from the drop-down (below Description) for both.

Hi Adina,

As long as both Connections to the Qlik Sense Apps belong to the same NPrinting App you should be able to use objects from both in the same report.

When adding objects to the report template you have Connection options in the drop-down list.

Hi,

First of all I would to suggest to update to a more recent version.

Second you can connect to all the apps from a single Qlik Sense Server. Qlik NPrinting templates can contain objects from many different Qlik Sense apps.

You cannot connect to more than one Qlik Sense server due to a certificate installation limitation.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Thank you Daniel. Only thing is that I cannot create a 2nd connection to the same NPrinting App. So in the drop down I only see 1. Maybe I am missing something but I tried every scenario I could think off. OneConnection.JPG

Thanks Ruggero! Agree and I can connect to all the app just I cannot merge them into one deliverable. For instance, I have a customer which today receives 1 xls report for country X (connected to Dashboard X) and another xls 2 for country Y (Connected to Dashboard Y), but he needs to have them combined and receive just one xls file with both info, coming from Dash X and Dash Y.

Hi,

Create two connections one for each Qlik Sense App then select the objects in the template as showed in the Daniel screenshot.

Hi,

Perfect till the "select the same NPrinting App". I did that and got "Connection failed on all NPrinting engines." error. I recreated all connection and now seem to be working perfectly fine. Thank you so much for the help!
