N Printing reports not working

Hi all,

I am using Nprinting 16.3.0.0 SR3 to distribute my daily reports.

It was working fine till last week, but this week reports are not been distributed automatically.Every day i have to manually run all the schedules.

Nprinting service is running fine. Also I have a license Qlikview in the dedicated NPrinting server.

Did checked the logs but there is no such error displayed.

PFA Screen shots of Server and log file.

Thanks in advance 🙂

No, if you change the password of the Windows user that runs the Qlik NPrinting Windows service you must change also the password in the service configuration otherwise it stops working.

This is one of the reasons why we ask to create a Windows user only to run the Qlik NPrinting Windows service. You should also evaluate if it is possible to set the user option "Password never expires". It depends on your company security policies.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Ruggero,

Did check with the IT guys, the password is not changed from quite a long time.

Do you mean if windows password is changed then we need to change the Nprinting service password?

What if both have a different password?

Paras

Hi Paras,

Check the Daniel's screenshot. The Qlik NPrinting Windows service is runned by a Windows user that must have a login password. If you change that password you must change also the Qlik NPrinting settings as showed.

Maybe this document can help you Install QlikView NPrinting Release 16.x.x.x

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Ruggero,

Getting confused.

If IT guy changes the Server password (Windows login to dedicated Nprinting  server), then will they have to change the Nprinting Service password?

Can it be 2 separate password for both server and N printing Services?

Paras

Hi,

Qlik NPrinting Windows service uses a Windows user and you must enter its password when you install Qlik NPrinting. If IT changes the password of that user you must to change also the Qlik NPrinting Windows service settings by inserting the new password.

I don't know if you are using the same user to login to the server. We request to use a Windows user only for Qlik NPrinting also to avoid this kind of issues.

When you run a report preview the user used it the legged in one and it could be different than the user set in the Windows service.

A Windows user has a single password.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
