NPRINTING: Connection page keep 'Buffering' after upgrade

Hello Experts,

Its my first time here. Wanna ask you guys about the issue that i'm facing after doing a version upgrade on NPrinting. So we are upgrading from NPrinting April'18 to Nov'18 by following the steps provided in Qlik Help: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/April2018/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Upgrading-Qlik-NPrintin... The upgrade were successful.

But, we having issue when we open 'Connection Page' in NPrinting Web Console. The connection created in previous version (Apr'18) didn't show up and the page keep 'buffering' and will stuck there until we restart the services. The issue will remain every time we open the 'Connection Page'. If you experienced this issue before kindly assists. Thank you experts!

Hi,

November 2018 is not latest version. Latest is February 2019. So I suggest to upgrade to February 2019 first.

Then check that all Qlik NPrinting Windows services are up and running. If yes check the logs in order to see if there are error messages.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Upgrade to November 2018 or newer

If you are upgrading to April 2019 from September 2018 SR2 included or older version you must:

  • Open port 4997 outbound on Qlik NPrinting Server and inbound on all Qlik NPrinting Engines
  • Reinstall all your Qlik NPrinting Engines and providing a password for certificate exchange
  • Open the Engine manager in the Web Console
  • Open the detail page for each Engine and send the certificate after inserting the same password you used during the engines reinstallation

Qlik NPrinting Engines stay offline until the certificate exchange is performed. Older Engine versions cannot connect to a Qlik NPrinting April 2019 Server

Hi

Did you by any chance do a restore after the upgrade? If yes, note that it is not necessary to do so.

Also you will need to revert to your previous state and attempt the upgrade again.

For more information on upgrading NPrinting see the following article. The article includes upgrade steps, system requirement links  and other information about the upgrade process.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rugerro,

Thanks for your reply.

Please note that we are upgrading to November 2018 from April 2018.

The upgrade were successful and all Qlik NPrinting Windows services are up and running.

We also had performed certificate exchange in Web Console and the engine is ONLINE.

But why the connections page keep buffering and freeze the page?
