NPrinting External requests - Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion

We have a Qlikview application from where we need to trigger an NPrinting job. I've used External requests as suggested here but I get a windows error as a result. The full log from the last try:

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Service: event started

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Run Job: WebMacro test

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Run Task: WebMacro test

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Error Connection error to \\GLO-NTS57\Verifying\web-macro.qvw; Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Terminate Task: WebMacro test

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message This task took 0 seconds to execute

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message -------------------

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Terminate Job: WebMacro test

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Service: event terminated

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Closing connections

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Connections closed

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message ===================

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Start verify notification alerts

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:10  Message Send mail for notification alerts

Service 15.08.2016  14:11:12  Message End verify notification alerts

This has happend for 2 different Qlikview applications (2 different jobs in NPrinting). It works if I trigger the schedule from the Nprinting Designer.

At first I thought that it might be because the applications had file access macros, but I removed the macros from the "WebMacro test" application and it still doesn't work

Where can I find a more verbose log?

Has anyone else had any similar experience?

Best regards,

Carl-Fredrik

Hello Carl-Fredrik,

Hope this helps

Re: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion

I have also added the fix that I applied for the similar issue in above thread. Let me add that here as well if that helps.

1. Open task manager.

2. Locate if any QV.exe process running through the same account (Nprinting Service Account) with which Nprinting Service is running.

3. Try to kill that process.

4. Restart Qlikview Nprinting Service.

5. Scheduled jobs should run fine now without the error.

Best,

Hardik Patel

Hi Hardik!

Thank you for the help! That solved problem. It was a QV.exe process in the background that halted the execution.

Again, many thanks!

Carl-Fredrik
