NPrinting Report Popup Parameters

Hello,

Is there a way to create prompts in a NPrinting Report that is run on-demand.

As an example, if I have a report that prints Shoes, Socks and Shirts can I create a parameter that prompts the user for which values they want (Shoes, Socks and Shorts, or any combination).

The alternative is to have them select the values in Qlik and then run the report.

Thanks,

Michael

@PrashantSangle - I think we are overcomplicating it.

100% agree with you tha using mashup, APIs etc would do the job...but at the same time I dont think managing such solutions is viable long term.

Still - it is solution which needs to "guide/ask user to make choices in Qlik Sense app before OnDemand NPrinting report gets triggered - hence it is not NPrinting solution we talk about here i think?

In my opinion solutions like the one from @mstoler question need to be built using "out of the box" options as they must survive Qlik Sense and NPrinting upgrades without breaking that is why i suggested containers which would do the job if designed properly.

Anyway...

I like your idea of the mashup as it could be fun designing it 🙂

Hi @mstoler

This is not a nprinting question right? OnDemand NPrinting is only trigger passing the applied selections. Everything else leading to it needs to be handled in Qlik Sense.

OnDemand report generations is based on users selections so if you want to have some sort of prompts created I would base it on Qlik Sense containers where you would have to go through some actions. Thise action you can base on varaibles and users selections to guide users through what they see in containers (depending on users selections some things can show or hide in containers. They can be messages or listboxes forcing users to apply selections. Once they go through the path of your choice finally they can get to see OnDemand NPrinitng button in container so they can produce report.

I personally don't like such approach as it is probably best just to havve some text next to NPrinting button saying "apply selections to generate report" or something similar to minimize number of clicks users have to do before they can export report. After few days of usage that itself will be too much for users anyway...

hope it makes sense.

cheers

Well. your use case can be achieve using mashup, and nprinting API (not 100% sure). but no simpler way to achieve it.

Great dreamer's dreams never fulfilled, they are always transcended.
