NPrinting Sept'18 Change Port #s

I'm trying to change the default port numbers for the newsstand and webconsole without luck.

I added the bold text to the app.conf files (saved) and rebooted the server.

C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\newsstandproxy\app.conf

"...

# The port on which to listen.

http.port=443

#http.port=4994

..."

C:\ProgramData\NPrinting\webconsoleproxy\app.conf

"...

# The port on which to listen.

http.port=9443

#http.port=4993

..."

However. the webconsole and the dashboard are still available on the old ports and the new ports don't respond.

What am I missing?

Hi Lucien,

You should be making changes in the webengine.config file in this location:

C:\Program Files\NPrintingServer\NPrinting\WebEngine

Restart the Qlik NPrinting Web Engine service after saving the file.

If you are trying to secure the NPrinting Web Console, to do so you need to use the following method.

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/September2018/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Installin...

There is no need to change ports to 443 in order to secure NPrinting Web Console. Use the method above.

Nope. I've already secured the site with our certs. HTTPS works great.... it's just on the wrong port.

I'd like to get rid of the non-standard port numbers, port numbers in a URL are ugly.

I can deal with the dashboard/webconsole on a non-standard port as it's only for developers.

The newsstand is user facing and should be on the standard https port.

Yep, that did it. Thank you.

Why is the option in the app.conf file if it isn't used?

Makes it confusing, especially when the certificate config requires modification to that file.
