NPrinting send Email to multiple recipients in the same Email

Hi Everyone,

I want to use NPrinting to distribute the QlikView reports (in excel format).

So, I setup the Recipient Groups in excel and load it into NPrinting.

GroupEmail
SalesTeamAPeter@ABC.com
SalesTeamATom@ABC.com
SalesTeamBMary@ABC.com

After setup the reports and tasks, I run it and expect to see NPrinting send 2 Emails to them:

- SalesTeamA (Peter and Tom) receipt 1 Email (i.e. In the Email "To", it shows Peter and Tom Email)

- SalesTeamB (Mary) receipt 1 email (i.e. In the Email "To", it shows Mary Email only).

However, what actually happen is, NPrinting send 3 Emails to each recipient:

- SalesTeamA (Peter) receipt 1 Email (i.e. In the Email "To", it shows Peter Email only)

- SalesTeamA (Tom) receipt 1 Email (i.e. In the Email "To", it shows Tom Email only)

- SalesTeamB (Mary) receipt 1 email (i.e. In the Email "To", it shows Mary Email only).

I did search on Google or this discussion forum, but I could not find anyone discuss anything like this.

Could somebody advise what I have done wrong? or how should I do to make NPrinting send 2 Emails out only.

QlikView version: 11.20

NPrinting version: 16.0.0.0

Thanks.

Hi Charles,

QlikView NPrinting will send one e-mail to each recipient (not group). Recipients generally have recipient level filters so two or more recipients in a particular group could have different filters and therefore different data in their reports. However, all appropriately filtered reports in a task will be sent in a single e-mail for each recipient.

Attached is a small project that demonstrates this. Extract to C:\Temp\Community\018 or change the paths in the nsq. Use the Test feature as the e-mail addresses are dummies. How to Test a Task without Involving Recipients

Charles,

If the filters to be applied to the report(s) sent to a "group" are all the same, then rather than create separate recipients with identical filters, create a single recipient with multiple email addresses. This can be done manually and through a recipient import. Emails must be semicolon (";") separated.

Like Daniel siad, Nprinting looks at the group to see the recipients within the group and then sends the email to each recipient individually.  Groups are made up of individual recipients.  So in your example above, since the emails are sent to the individual and not the group, there will be 3 individual emails even though there are 2 groups.

It is easiest and best to assign a group to a task instead of individual recipents to a task so when the group us updated, which can be done via recipent import, you do not need to update the recipeints on the task, since thye are tied to the group.

Thanks all,

I think it makes more sense to me that NPrinting should allow to send Email to "a group in the same Email" if they are having the "same filters" option. This would be the nice to have function.

Thanks, but it would be difficult to maintain the Email list.

Anyway, this would be the most suitable method to simulate the result at this moment.
