Hi,
We have big report generation task, it used to complete at max in 9 hours, but now after addition of few more cycle values its stuck after showing the message "Starting content production".(Image of task execution message attached) attached.
NPrinting version - 18.29.9.0
Qlik Sense Version - Sept 2018 Patch 2
Yes, We create 200 power point files using 1 field in cycle and inside I have paging for around 20 slides and paging field can have at max 20-25 values.
So I know huge volume is involved here and we know we cannot do much about it, I wanted to understand if there is any way Nprinting can finish the job instead of just spinning and showing 'Running' after throwing message 'Starting content production'. We are ok if even takes 20 hours to do so.
We have plan to scale up the resources and see if that makes Nprinting to finish the job.
Thanks for your response!

Hi,
You could use the Task Executions page https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2018/Content/NPrinting/AdministeringQVNprinting/Monito...

Thanks for your response.
Can you please elaborate what exactly do you mean by that. This link has all the info about the status of tasks, but not sure how it links to forever running task issue I have.
Thanks,
Digvijay
Hi,
The Tasks Execution page shows you information about tasks that are executing in this moment and also about past tasks. By clicking on a task you will see related details. So you can have an idea about how the task is going.

You are right, I use this feature a lot to know how things are going. So for this specific task which is not completing forever, it shows the message 'Started content production', but after that nothing happens, no message, no warning, no further update in log. Its like the task is stuck and Nprinting has no control to either abort it or move it forward.
Check also the logs to see if there are error messages.
For debugging, try to split the big job into smaller ones. For example create the report only for a user or add a filter to keep only 2 or 3 values of the cycle and verify if it is completed.

Ruggero
Splitting the report into multiple chunks of 50 reports works but the whole report (205 reports) is stuck at "Starting content production". We ran for the task for 72 hours+ and the job never issued warnings or stopped
