New to Nprinting

Hi,

We have been primarily using Licensed Qlikview desktop edition to design PDF and excel reports and send it to end users via email. The users now want us send many scheduled reports(excel and pdf) and hence we are considering NPrinting. I have few queries around Nprinting :

  • Will Npriting designer allow us to design and schedule reports in both excel and pdf format ?
  • If not, then if we get a Nprinting Server license , do we also have to get a Qlikview Server License ? Or can Nprinting Server work independently without Qlikview Server License ?
  • Can multiple developers access same Nprinting Server to design and schedule reports ?

Regards,

Imtiyaz

As Andre, said if you need to give access for Qlikview dashboard then you need to deploy the app in an server so in this case you need the server access . If you don't want the people to access your app and just the QVW is used for NPrinting reporting then its ok but make sure you have the app in the NPrtitning accessible path

Please find the answers below:

1.Yes, using Nprinting you can design your reports in all the formats like Excel, PDF, Word, HTML, Pixel perfect etc

2. Nprinting needs access for the Qlikview server and a valid Desktop license to open the QV documents

3.Yes, Multiple developer can access but design you need a valid designer license

Hi Avinash,

Thanks for the response.

So regarding Point 2: Currently, we do not have a Qlikview Server . But we do have valid desktop license. Is it possible to schedule reports using only Nprinting Server license and Desktop license  ?

Hi,

if you want to give access to people to the reports from qlikview you need qlikview server because NPrinting needs the QlikView Server licensing.

What are thinking to use on demand?
