Nprinting 17/18 reload data task with variable - missing from NPrinting 16

Hi,

we have a big problem at our client using NPrinting 17/18 for migration.

We used NPrinting 16 with reloading the data and handover a parameter through a variable

before generating the reports.

We have 1 QVW, where we can reload the qvw with different areas.

The advantage in NPrinting 16 was, using 1 QVW connection with having

15 Tasks for 15 areas.And we had one NPrinting PPT report (for example).

Now the problem is, we can not handover a variable and we can´t reload the qvw before generating

the task.

I think, the only solution is to create 15 connections for each area.

Then we have to create 15 reports for each connection....

Is there any better solution for this case?

I suspect you have it right, variable filters were present in NP 16 but have yet to be put into current versions, you can hit this page, and scroll to the bottom to see the current gap list:

Hi 

You can easily do both with little bit of workaround

• passing variable: you can creatr variable expression dependent on field selection. This field can be loaded on data island table. You can then use Nprinting filters to drive selection on this field and hence pass value
• task chaining can be easily achieved using API and Qlik Rest Connector directly from qve script. More here:
