Nprinting Excel Template Header with Qlik variables, can we use Macro?

Hi All,

Need to have a header which uses the data populated by Qlik variables.

What are the ways to achieve this...?

Can we use Macros to read the cell range which is populated with Qlik variables...?

When report is generated, does the Macro run after variables are populated...?

I tried this way but seems not working but only the variable tag is added as header.

Hi,

answers to all your questions are in official documentation on https://help.qlik.com :

regarding variables read important info here: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/Content/NPrinting/Troubleshooting/Variables-dont-...

regarding macros: they are never executed in NPrinting (instead they can be executed on open by excel client) https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/Content/NPrinting/ExcelReports/Intro-Excel.htm

now, you dont need macros to achieve this, instead you can simply put variables directly in the place where they need to be on your template, just make sure you use "=" sign in their definitions in QlikView/QlikSense so they expand before....

Providing more info regarding version of Nprinting and QlikView or Qlik Sense + mockup of what you are trying to do would be helpful to give you more accurate answer. You may want to describe what your macros need to do (if they need to calculate or do something else....)

Hi,

If you mean inserting Qlik NPrinting tags of variables in the Excel page headers (or Word) it is not supported. Qlik NPrinting tags are not replaced with their values when inserted in the Office page headers.
