Nprinting doesn't refresh the data

Hej,

I'm using Nprinting 17.1.2 and. I'm experiencing a serious problem:

My Nprinting connection doesn't give me the latest data.

In other words, my Nprinting connection keep giving me the data of the .qvw from the point in time when the connection was setup in the first place.

Any pointers / ideas?

thanks in advance,

Paul

Hi Emmanuelle - I think i have described the problem you have in my previous posts.

down to your question re NP June 2017 - It has a trigger implemented to refresh metadata. So if you are using "Local" connection to QlikView document a trigger will actually allow you solve this issue as it will kill a QV instance on certain schedule and re-open new one for this connection - which at the same time will update data you need. From this perspective NP June 2017 resolves your problem.

still - I recommend using QVP connection for performance, stability reasons. That would solve this problem also in older NPrinting versions. Local connections will be much slower and will consume a lot more resources.

Paul -

Are you using a QVP connection? If so, there is a workaround (attached).

This will not work for local QVW connections.

A full fix is expected in a release later this year.

Hi Stephen,

thanks for you reply.

Unfortunately we dont use a QVP connection.

Do you have any estimate on when this fix will come out?

Hi Paul,

I have worked around this by scheduling a stop/start of the NPrinting services after a reload. I also take a backup of the repository while I'm at it: Qlik NPrinting 17.x Repository Backup Batch File

Hi Stephen,

the workaround is working with NPrinting 17.2.1.

Local QVW connections are not working.

The QVP connection must be buildt of an user who has a Qlikview CAL on the Qlikviewserver (e.g. the NPrinting user).

So you have to login as the NPrinting user and then creating the connection. After that you can login as different user and you can create your reports etc.

If not: the cache generating will not ending !!!! There is no hint to this anywhere......

Sakar,

If you're using server connections then use Stephen's solution (above).

If you're using local connections then use Daniel's solution (above).

Hi,

I'm having the same issue, I think NPrinting just don't refresh the data. This is a serious problem because the Task will be sending the same report everyday. I'm finishing a project on NPrinting and this limitation is really annoying for us and the client.

Hi, there is any solution for this? I'm still with this problem. (Qlik Sense 3.1 w/ NPrinting 17.2.1)
