Nprinting17 SMPT server set up

I am trying to set up test email for nprinting17, i tried used IP address, Server address , but when i try to test it , it saying check your email configuration.   The email configuration (port NO, SMTP server address) are same as nprinting16 which was working fine and nothing has been changes as i talked to network guy.  Any input will be helpful.

Email not sent. Check your email configuration.

Hi

IP address or DNS name should both work. I assume you use port 25 as a default port for SMTP. Is your firewall configured to allow ports for SMTP?

  • Did you have NPrinitng 16 installed on the same machine?
  • If not:
    • can you actualy reach your SMTP server from your NPrinting server?
    • Is your new NPrinitng server whitelisted on SMTP side?

as a test you can use smtp4dev (https://github.com/rnwood/smtp4dev) to test NPrinting settings - if it works, then enything else is your network configuration which has nothing to do with NPrinting.

cheers

Lech

Hi,

are you using the November version or a newer one?

What specific error do you find in the logs?

If you can find something related to authentication, I would try to insert again the credentials or remove them at all (see the first article I link below).

I would suggest those two articles on the knowledge, that should help you solve your issues with the emails:

Hope this helps

Cheers,

Riccardo

Hi,

Check also the logs of your SMTP server, not only the Qlik NPrinting logs.

It could be that in the SMTP logs you find some information about what is going wrong.

I agree with the suggestion from Lech and Riccardo.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
