Publishing a report to a folder, is supplying a User mandatory if you are sending the report to a folder?

Hello,

I am trying to understand how publishing to a folder works.

In order to publish to a folder, do you have to enter a User in the Users/group tab?

I have created a Destination folder which is linked to an app.

I have ensured NPrinting user can access and write to the folder.

Then I setup a Publishing task where I want to publish a report from an app to a folder, but it seems like it only publishes when I enter a User. Is this right?

If I setup a Publishing task without a User it doesn't seem to publish.

Hi Michael,

Yes, at least one (enabled) user is mandatory in the Users/Groups section of all Publish tasks. This is irrespective of Destination. If you have no users, or all added users are disabled, the report will not be generated and you will get an entry something like this in your nprinting_scheduler log:

Task <Publish task name> is configured so that all recipients are disabled. No report will be generated
