Hi Qlik NPrinting board,
I am setting up a new Qlik Nprinting (Feb 2021 version) environment. My LDAP have around 8000 users. In a simple way I can import all 8000 users using import task and avoid manually adding users. However, I am not sure if "8000" is big number and would it affect Qlik NPrinting performance. Reason I ask is in Qlik Sense we had performance issue when we imported 35000 users because for every security rule execution it was looping through so many users.
Note: I have single server where all Qlik NPrinting related components (engine, server, designer) are installed.
Hi,
Qlik NPrinting has not a built in limit in the users (a part limitations based on the SMB license) and they are stored in the repository that is a DB.
Qlik NPrinting performances depends on many factors so I suggest you to check the page https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2021/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Performance.htm. If you need to create and deliver reports to 8000 users please do some performance tests because I suspect a single engine configuration could be tool small. Performances depends also on the hardware resources and on the structure of the reports.
Importing from LDAP allows you to use filtes https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Use... in case you don't need to import all users. Filters use the LDAP syntax.
Best Regards,
Ruggero
