Hi @Manish

Did you perform database restore after upgrading?

  • If yes, a restore is not required and will cause your NPrinting deployment to fail (if you used an older NP database for the restore)  see: https://support.qlik.com/articles/000050323 regarding upgrading NPrinting information.

If you did upgrade from another NP 17 + server and no restore was done, please check the following article which mentions how to solve the issue.

If this was not an upgrade and a fresh installation, can you tell us if you ever had any other version of NPrinting installed on this computer at one time or another?

Please remember hit the 'Like' button and for helpful answers and resolutions, click on the 'Accept As Solution' button. Cheers!

hi@Frank_S

This is not an upgrade. I have done a fresh installation.

But yes earlier i have nprinting version 17.x install in the same machine.

I uninstall earlier version i.e. 17.x and then tried to install the new version

Thanks

If this is fresh install, then do the following to clean up the previous install.

NOTE follow the steps in the correct order below or the uninstall process will not work normally.

  • Open task manager and do 'End task' on epmd.exe
  • Uninstall NPrinting Engine, Server and Designer as needed
  • Uninstall all versions of Erlang OTP
  • If you had a very old version of NPrinting previously (17.2.x or lower), make sure to also un-install any Rabbit MQ remaining in Programs and Features/uninstall a program

Next, open the following and rename these folders:

  • C:\Program Files\NPrintingServer to C:\Program Files\NPrintingServer.old
  • C:\ProgramData\NPrinting to C:\ProgramData\NPrinting.old
  • Restart the server

NOTE: if you not able to rename the folders, restart the server and try to re-name again.

Once you are able to rename the folders, Install NPrinting server once again but make sure that you have met all system and user account requirements before proceeding.

For example

  • you must have a least 2 cores on your computer (see install requirements)
  • The NP service account must have log on as a service right before proceeding (see install requirements
  • etc

If this does not solve the issue, please start a support case so we can assist you further to clean up your machine in further detail before attempting another re-installation.

Please remember hit the 'Like' button and for helpful answers and resolutions, click on the 'Accept As Solution' button. Cheers!

Did you previously use a service account and then changed it to another service account? If so try using back to the old service account.

Hi,

I think you uninstalled only the old Version of Qlik NPrinting Server, Engine and Designer but you still have RabbitMQ installed. Please remove also it, reboot and install June 2019.

You are experiencing a bug solver in April 2019 by upgrading the Qlik NPrinting Messaging service but for some reasons it seems that in your computer the old version is still in use.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
