Qlikview User name in Footer

Hi Team,

I am new to NPrinting and i am facing the issue on User name in NPrinting Footer.

Tasks : Need to show QVuser name in NPrinting.

Please refer below my Steps(but i am not getting what i am expected)

1. Created One variable in Qlikview (vPrepared By = 'Prepared By: ' & Subfield(OSUser(),'\',2)

2. Value is showing as Prepared By: Sakthivel. Selvaraja

3. Taking this variable in Nprinting Variable.

4. If I Use this variable in Qlik Nprinting it is showing as NPAdmin(which is Nprinting Admin User)

5. But what my expectation is shown as the same above which is Prepared By: Sakthivel.Selvaraja.

Will anyone help me to resolve this . It is very urgent

Thanks and Regards,

Sakthivel.S

@Ruggero_Piccoli - as far as I understand that whole scenario is aimed to support OnDemand. Would that still cause significant performance issue? I guess not. What is your opinion on that?

Thanks

L.

Hi,

If the Qv.exe process is already opened I think Qlik NPrinting has to close and reopen it with impersonating another user only one time. So maybe the difference is small if the .QVW is light.

Hi Jyothish8807,

I was looking at your solution but i am not sure of QVUser() function. It is not working for me.

Hi @manojkulkarni

It will only work if the section access is implemented and NPrinitng connection is configured to use section access.

EDIT: Also it will only work with the OnDemand report and not subscriptions from NewsStand.

In this case the solution suggested above using a detached Section Access table looks like a suitable solution 🙂

Hi , I just edited a section above.

Solution will also work in the model where report will be trigered from NewsStand. The principles in this case are the same: NPrinting using section access needs to impersonate person which report is produced for.

Hi @manojkulkarni .

If I were you I would bookmark this (below link) page in your web browser and make sure that I treat it as my best friend when it comes to all Qlik questions 🙂

That is the same page @Ruggero_Piccoli has provided you direct link with, however it is a good practice to start navigating through help website by choosing the version of software you are using as some features may be different between different versions:
