Qlikview server NPrinting license lease expiring

Hi,

For a customer we have Qlikview and Qlik NPrinting installed on the same server. We have an account which has a named user CAL assigned to it. For the installation of Qlik NPrinting we created a new service account. In order to perform actions in NPrinting this account needs a Qlikview license. Because this service account doesn't have a named user CAL we are using the license lease method to obtain one. This works fine until the lease expires. From this point onwards cache rebuilds fail and things no longer work. To get everything to work again we have to log on using the service account and open a document in qlikview in server using the credentials of the account that does have a named user CAL.

I'm wondering whether there is a nicer/other way to do this without having to log in once in a while using the service account credentials?

Thanks in advance,

Javier

Hi,

QlikView leased licenses are not supported as Personal Edition. Refer to https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/June2018/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Licensing-Qlik-NPrinting...

I suggest you also to take a look at https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/June2018/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Supported-unsupported-co...

"Qlik NPrinting Engine and Server should not be installed on the same computer where QlikView Server or QlikView Publisher are installed. There are no known incompatibilities between these two products, but in a production environment, Qlik NPrinting should be installed on a separate computer (virtual or physical) from QlikView Server or QlikView Publisher because Qlik NPrinting Engine and Server will consume all the available resources of the computer they are installed on. This may lead to QlikView Server or QlikView Publisher crashing because of lack of resources."

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Javier,

You can write a batch file which opens a file on server every 30 days.

This way you can automate the processes of leasing licence.

Akhilesh
