Recipient import from SharePoint 2013 Excel file fails

Hope you can help me here.

We recently moved to SharePoint 2013.
A number of reports use excel files on SharePoint to import Recipients (and filters). This worked fine on our old SharePoint site but on SP2013 the import results in "0 recipients loaded" (no error message).

When I run the Recipient Import Task from within the application it works fine though, but it fails when ran through the scheduler. I made sure that the "user" on the NPrinting server has full access to the files on SP2013 but no luck.
I did hear that SP2013 uses a different protocol but am not sure how that would impact the import.

When I move the Excel files to a disk location it works fine.

NPinting Designer version 16.9.0.0 (SR9)
NPrinting Server version 16.0.0.0

Thanks, Ron

Hi @rong,

A couple of things:

  • NPrinting Server and  Designer must always match exactly. They are developed and tested together so a task that works in Designer 16.9 may result in unexpected results in Server 16.0. So the first thing to do is upgrade your server to 16.9. and then test
  • If that does not resolve your issue, run the Designer as the Server Service account (either login as the NPrinting Server Service account or Shift+RMB on NPrinting.exe and select Run as different user and enter the Service account credentials) and test.
