Hi Team,
I am new in NPrinting 17. I have created Qlikview report in qlikview17.Now I want to schedule the jobs to send created QlikView reports.
I saw the help of NPrinting but still some confusion.
1) I have installed all 3 set up of NPrinting(NP Engine, NP server, NP Designer) on the same server where QV desktop and server installed.
Is it ok?
2) https://YourServer:4993 is used for QV reports scheduling or designing?
3) During the creation of connection in https://YourServer:4993, I saw this point "at least one Qlik NPrinting Engine active".
How I can check NPrinting Engine active or not"? In window services, Nrpinting engine is in running mode.
4) I am not able to create the connection . it is showing this message "Something went wrong with current operation"
I am not using session access so I did not give username and password under create connection window.
5) I have installed NPrinting setup using window user credentiaI which has the administrative right of a domain user.Is it ok?
Please give your feedback.
Thanks,
Narender
Please give your suggestion.
Thanks,
Narender
1) This is a supported configuration. THey say not to install Sense and NPrinting on the same box. YOu can install the designer on your own machine if you want. You can add more engines across other servers but there is additonal cost to that.
2) Both you schedule tasks user and publishing and create your reports from there, when you ad a new report you edit the template to open your designer up.
3) Go to Admin>Engines to check status
4) The username you need to give is a user probably a domain one with access to your Qlik View Dashboard you want to connect to this is not a section access request.
5) Yes this seems ok. You can setup non windows users to access your reporting in the import task.
Hope this has helped
Andy
Additionally for #4, ensure that the NPrinting service account has a QlikView license and that it has access to any folders where the QVWs are stored.
Hi Andy,
Actually #1 might work but is not supported. See point 5 under Unsupported configurations here: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/17.3/Content/DeployingQVNprinting/Supported-unsupported-config...
HTH - Daniel.
My experience of using it relates only to connecting to Sense and agree the two environments should be kept sperate. We actually have SMB edition of VIew running on the same box as NPRinting.
NPrinting is very hungry for reasource so I can imagine it would impact the performance of the qlikview apps.
If you are using it as a test or sec instance then you can probably live with that.
Hello Daniel,
As per your suggested link - All Qlik NPrinting components can be installed on the same machine. It is also possible to install Qlik NPrinting Server, Qlik NPrinting Engine and Qlik NPrinting Designer on different machines
Also, I checked the same notes during installation of Nprinting components to the same computer.
Hello Stephen,
I have license of QVserver which i have already applied.
I have Nprinting license , which i also applied during Nprinting configuration.
You are saying the same license ??
Thanks,
Hi Narendra,
Yes you can install all Qlik NPrinting components on the same machine or each on a different one or any combination - all those scenarios are supported. Installing NPrinting on the same machine as Qlik Sense Enterprise or QlikView Server (as your point 1 suggests you have done) may work but is not supported.
HTH - Daniel.
Hello Andy,
# 3 Configure the Engine . Now Engine is Active.
#4 - Now i am able to create connection without giving username and password in Create connection.
Is it ok??
I have completed job, task, trigger, user i Nprinting . After applying trigger , I am not getting email .So how can I check whether a email is working or not
Can I run Nprinting job manually rather than trigger or send some test email ??.
Please clarify.
Thank you,
