TLS Error for Nprinting 16

I am getting an error message "Error while sending a message (TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are not supported. Please upgrade/update your client to support TLS 1.2."

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Hello @jli87

This message is likely from a windows server in your environment. This is an extrapolation based on the limited information that you provided on this thus far.

The assumption is that an email send attempt is failing to be correctly delivered and the tls error message is thus logged somewhere.

As such the solution 'might' be to update Windows servers to support TLS 1.2.

More information about this can be found on Microsoft support pages.

Further, NPrinting 16 has been depreciated for nearly 2 years now (March 31, 2020) as you may well know.

As such it is critical that you plan migrating to supported versions of NPrinting to mitigate functionality issues that may arise from maintain unsupported versions or trying to use unsupported versions or un-certified for use versions of QlikView with NPrinting 16 (ie: currently supported versions of QlikView are not supported for use with the now deprecated NP 16.x track.

For migration information please review the following migration playbook to assist you with your migration planning and subsequent implementation.

Kind regards...

Hi,

Your SMTP server requires minimum TLS 1.2 but QlikView NPrinting 16.9 doesn't support it and will not be upgraded because it is out of support. So you could follow @Frank_S 's suggestion and migrate to the most recent version (this is what we suggest to all customers that are still using 16.*) or you can try to connect to another SMTP server with different requirements but it will be unsafe.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
