feature gap nprinting 16 and 17+

Hello all,

I have a question regarding the features that were in Nprinting 16 but are not (yet) supported in Nprinting 17 and further: Is there any roadmap as to when this feature gap is gonna be bridged and in which order?

For us the following features are highly used in our reports and therefore we do not upgrade and are still on version 16, which is a shame since we miss out on other new features.

- Microsoft Office macros and related file formats (.xlsm)

- Variable filter

- Bookmark filter

- Clear all selections

- Select excluded

- Test task

- Task failure notifications

For 17 we had the idea development was mostly directed at new features. Personally I hope one or two releases in 2018 will also be directed at bridging the gap in features between 16 and 17(and up).

Do you have any idea when these features are planned? (If they are still planned?)

Hope to hear from you!

Rumor says that xlsm will come in next release - don't know anything about other features

Hi,

We are aware that there are some gap features between 16 and 17+ that stops the migration from old 16 installation to the new 17+. The whole development team is working hard to fill these gaps and as stated by Lech some will be available with the new version.

In fact all new versions have some gap filled and the next one will not fill everything.

Microsoft Excel macros (the support for .xlsm files) could be included in next release.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hi Ruggero,

Thank you for the quick reply. Good to know that the team is on this and that it is still in the planning to fill in the gap.

We will be anxiously waiting for future releases and if any information is available wed be happy to receive it.

Are there any specific pages that we can check for upcoming releases?

For now we are checking the what's new page on a regular basis.

Hi,

We release a TP (Technical Preview) for each new release. It has the new features available for testing (a TP is not for production use). The TP version has also its release notes with the What's new chapter. So I think this is the best place where to check.

There is not a public road map.

Best Regards,

Ruggero

Hello @Ruggero_Piccoli

What is the current status in the topic 'difference between NP16 und NP17'? Which gaps have been closed since mid 2018 and which still exist?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Patrick

Hi,

The list of features that cannot be migrated from 16 to 17+ due to gap is available at https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/Content/NPrinting/Migrate/Before-you-migrate.htm#...

If you are interested in a specific feature I suggest you to add it in the ideation portal or vote if it is still listed https://community.qlik.com/t5/Ideas/idb-p/qlik-ideas

To know if and what gap features are filled oneach release refer to the related release notes.

Best Regards,

Ruggero
