nprinting calculation in the footer

How can I get a calculated field in the footer ?  When I put this field in the footer, its blank in the output

Even SUM([1-3 days]) shows up blank.

I can add a field from the table then change the property to group sum

Whats the deal with calculated fields ?

Version of software you are using, configuration, template format and some screenshot of your footer report template..
