Bugs Fixed: Cannot get recipient name in hebrew, Embed reports with hebrew characters.
Bugs fixed: Out of Memory with Word templare
Memory usage has been optimized.
What's New: Automatically delete Recipients on import, Customize CSV Export separator, New recipients ID field.
Improvements: More than one document can be attached to an e-mail using CTRL + Click, HTML report not created: report tags now eliminated from message, Enter custom text in dynamic report names and new date formats, Check e-mail address syntax during import, Objects already present in the NPrinting QlikView object list weren’t updated.
Bugs Fixed: Check invalid character for output file, Group Section Access doesn't generate reports, Schedule date and time formats only Continental style.
Eliminate imported recipients who are no longer present in the data source with a task. This feature is controlled by two new properties: the task property "Delete old recipients" and the recipient property "Imported from task", which is read only. The "Imported from task" flag is indicated for a recipient imported by task. A recipient is eliminated from the list when the “Delete old recipients” box is flagged in the same task that imported the recipient and that task is re-launched but the recipient is no longer present in the data source. Only those recipients imported previously by the task but not currently present in the data source are eliminated.
Now you can select from among different file formats for text file output: csv: comma separated values skv: semicolons separated values tab: tab stop separated values With an advanced setting window you can define the separator or specify a specific character as your separator.
There is the new editable ID field in recipients. If used during an import, it works as a primary key with an higher priority than the Full Name. Managing more than one recipient with the same Full Name is now possible: simply set different IDs: for instance enter your company identification number. Backward compatibility is kept, but please pay attention to the following things:
and recipients with FullName set but ID not set. You need to choose whether you want to use IDs or Full Names as keys beforehand.
The possibility to add more than one file as e-mail attachments by pressing CTRL+Click has been implemented.
NPrinting now eliminates tags in message bodies for reports not generated. Specifically, if an NPrinting tag lacks a valid referent, it is eliminated from the message. If, for example, you had a report that was generated only when a certain condition was true and a tag for it was embedded the HTML message body, the tag was displayed when the report was not generated. Now the tag is eliminated when the report is not generated. Warning messages in log file have been improved:
Dynamic report naming offers additional options: any Windows filename standard compliant text that you want can be added to the Custom text field there are additional date formats: yyyy-mm, yyyymm, yyyy mm, mm yyyy, mm-yyyy and mmmyyyy.
NPrinting now makes a formal control of e-mail addresses during import. If the e-mail address syntax is incorrect, NPrinting will:
If the e-mail address is incorrect, the recipient will be imported without the e-mail address.
The list of QlikView object displayed in NPrinting is currently updated every two minutes including already listed objects.
The splash screen image reassures you that NPrinting is loading even if you don’t see it yet. Load time has been optimized.
Output file names can no longer contain the following characters: /\:?"<>|*. Use of one or more of these characters in a field that specifies the name of a report or other file to be generated/created will result in the warning: "You have entered an invalid character in the "
A task containing a report and a group of recipients with section access enabled, generated no reports. The task worked with Section access and a list of individual recipients. Section Access Reports destined to recipient Groups now works correctly.
Date and time formats now conform to OS settings. Date and time field boxes have been slightly enlarged.
Improvements: Allow export of more than 65536 rows into Excel workbooks for version 2007 or later.
QlikView allows you to export in xls format only. If a QlikView chart contains more than 65536 rows and you export it, QlikView will put each block of 65536 rows into a separate Excel worksheet. NPrinting has solved this problem by merging all the other sheets into the first worksheet and then saving the resultant workbook in xlsx format. This works both for columns and tables.
Bugs Fixed: Error during connection to the mail server: Verify internet access and E-Mail settings in NPrinting.
NPrinting sometimes displays: “Error during connection to the mail server: Verify internet access and E-Mail settings the NPrinting” during scheduled task execution.
NPrinting will now try to connect to the mail server 4 times. If NPrinting doesn't successfully connect to the server 3 times, it will show this message: “Error while connecting to mail server. Retrying to connect” for each try.
On the 4th unsuccessful try, this error will appear: “Error during connection to the mail server: Verify internet access and E-Mail settings in NPrinting Options” and NPrinting will no longer attempt to reconnect.
Bugs Fixed: Table of Contents wasn’t generated when the task was run.
A Word report Table of Contents was generated during preview but not when the task was run. Now resolved.
What’s New: Localization in German.
NPrinting now has a German GUI. Online help is still in English.
Bugs Fixed: NPrinting crashed at startup and NPrinting crashed at startup.
A third party component was corrupted and caused NPrinting to crash at startup before execution. Now fixed.
Manually executed schedules terminated correctly, but NPrinting service executed schedules crashed and gave the “Error: Filter expression incorrectly terminated” message. Resolved.
Bugs Fixed: Registry key DocObject not configured for Microsoft Office 2013 and Report Task crashes when launched after a Reload Task.
NPrinting displays the "Cannot find a supported template editor" error when trying to edit a template with some Microsoft Office 2013 installations. This was because the DocObject registry key hadn’t been created. The new setup file is able to create the correct keys for template type xls, xlsx, xlsm, ppt, pptm, pptx, doc, docx, docm, 32 or 64 bit.
When you use the NPrinting scheduler to run a Report task after a Reload task the first could crash. There was a workaround: activate the flag "Close connection when task ends". Now the flag is unnecessary.
Bugs Fixed: Repeated rows in Excel Reports with images and columns and Erro: O arquivo "" é inválido when running a schedule with the service.
If an Excel template contains an image and a table on the same sheet, the values in the table were repeated. Everything worked fine with only the table in the sheet. This was due to unexpected behaviour when copying column and table ranges that has now been corrected.
When running a schedule containing Legacy Excel Report with the service, NPrinting 18.104.22.168 shows the error “Erro: O arquivo "" é inválido”. It was generated by a wrongly managed translation of a string in Portuguese. It has now been corrected.
What's new: Improved Excel Pivot Table performance with Microsoft tables and Out of memory bug fixed.
Starting with this release, you can create faster performing Excel Pivot Tables thanks to using Excel Tables as the source.
You don’t need to use levels any more.
Bugs Fixed: Error during connection to the mail server.
NPrinting sometimes displayed ”Message: Error during connection to the mail server: Verify internet access and E-Mail settings the NPrinting Options”. We added a 5-minute timeout when connecting to the SMTP server and when waiting for a response. If the server doesn’t answer in 5 mins., task execution continues with the “Read timeout” error message.
Bugs Fixed: NPrinting Front end doesn't appear.
NPrinting 22.214.171.124 did not start up when clicking on its icon on Windows 2008 R2 and 64 bit servers, rather an error message popped up in the status bar. Fixed for version 126.96.36.199 and higher.
Reports can now be sent with either read password protection, write password protection, or both. Preset passwords in two places, control which passwords are used in one place:
NPrinting now installs and uses a completely user-transparent, integrated print engine for report output in PDF. Bullzip PDF Printer is still necessary only for Legacy QlikView Entities, i.e. QlikView content created with NPrinting versions previous to 12.3.
QlikView Entities based on the following Objects: TableBox, PivotTable, StraightTableBox, Chart can be exported to Comma-Separated Values (CSV) files. QlikView Reports cannot be exported to CSV files.
Be aware that files containing many records can become very large and unmanageable. Currently, the separating character is a ';' and is not configurable, though configurability is in the plans.
QlikView objects can now populate Excel tables, so you can use Excel table functions.
"QlikView Objects" and "QlikView reports" are now managed under “Reports”. They share the features of Office and HTML Reports and can be used in Report tasks.
Now you can:
Your previous QlikView Entities are now found under Legacy QlikView Entities.
Opening NPrinting files containing old QlikView Entities causes a dialog window to appear asking if the user wants to create new QlikView Entities from old QlikView Entities. This can be done by clicking on the "Create New Entities" button in the "Extras" group of the tool ribbon in the main dialog.
Legacy QlikView Entities can no longer be created.
The resolution of images in PDF files generated from Word, Excel, and PowerPoint reports can be regulated.
Image compression for reports with "Output Format" set to "PDF" in the task report list can be regulated by clicking on the browse button in the "Advanced" column. A combobox containing a "Quality" section will appear.
QlikView variables names can now contain spaces to make them more legible. NPrinting is now able to display values for this kind of variable.
A new "Use This Group Field" property has been added to the Table column Properties menu in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and HTML report templates. It is displayed only if the column is a Cyclic Group dimension.
It has a predefined value, "(Active Field)", and creates reports having active field values. A specific group field can be forced by selecting it from the list.
Formula and drill-down groups are not supported.
Tags contained in a report template that are not substituted with data remain embedded in the finished report. This allows reports containing tags not valid in a given QlikView document but valid in another to become the template for later reports generated through a connection with a QlikView document for which the tags are valid.
Files that are needed only during data processing are created and deleted by default in the temp folder defined for the user currently using NPrinting or the Service. The 'Temp folder' can be redefined in the Options menu under Report settings.
Word and Powerpoint hold image dimensions fixed as defined at the moment the image is dragged'n'dropped onto the template. Later application of filters sometimes caused distortion in the final result due to changes in dimensions.
The Images node has a new "Stretch" property that can be set to:
A graphics component has been added that facilitates automatic label alignment and dimensioning. This has led to the modification of all forms so that they are dynamic and no longer static.
Other improvements are:
We added the property "Wrap Text" for the Tables in Excel and Word reports. By "Wrap Text" you can set to wrap or not the text in the cells of the final table. This property is available only for Tables and it affected all table columns. For instance, if you set the “Wrap Text” property to false by selecting the table name, all its columns will have the “wrap text” set to false. The property is not available for the single column. The default value is true (the check is activated). “Wrap Text” property works only if “Keep Source Format” is unchecked.
A tag validity check is run during the saving of a task. A message is displayed listing any invalid tags that are revealed asking whether to proceed or not.
The task is saved when responding "yes", or the procedure is aborted when "no". The user may then correct any errors before saving.
Tags contained in the body or subject of an e-mail message in a task are sometimes removed before dispatch if not coherent.
These tasks do not provide for the addition of recipients and so the related menu has been eliminated. Furthermore, the "Task folder with recipient subfolder" and "Recipient folder" output folders are no longer displayed.
The "File [TemporaryFileName] doesn't exist" error has been resolved. It occurred when trying to preview a report immediately after clicking on Save As.
Clicking on the “Check” button generated error messages even if the task being checked contained no errors.
Searching the help file sometimes caused NPrinting to quit working.
Objects inside QlikView document containers are now useable in all reports. This renders NPrinting compatible with QlikView 10 release SR2 and later. It remains compatible with QlikView 9, which does not employ containers, and QlikView 11.
Changing an existing repetitive schedule into a One Shot was not always a success as the task or job was executed more than once. New parameter checks avoid this.
Some users get the "NPrinting cannot find a supported template editor for the file NameFile..." error message when they try to edit or to create an Office report.
This problem may be due to incorrect installation of Office. In most cases, this occurs when Office 2013 has been installed by an online procedure.
Here are some suggestions that you can follow to resolve the problem quickly by yourself.
RAM needs increase continually during task execution till memory is saturated. Word, PowerPoint and HTML reports manifest this problem. The development team is working hard to resolve this problem as soon as possible.
Bugs Fixed: OLE error 800AC472, Object Reference not set to an instance of an object, Formatting for numbers in Word and HTML tables is not conserved and Section Access does not work correctly with recipients
This error happened when dragging the columns of a table to cells inside a level in an Excel template and NPrinting stopped responding. The error didn't occur in PowerPoint, Word and HTML reports and no longer occurs in Excel reports.
This error message appeared when previewing Word reports
Numeric data in Word and HTML tables were displayed in English format (',' as the thousands separator and '.' as the decimal separator) even when the operating system was set to or tables were formatted in continental style in QlikView.
QlikView security using the recipient name as an ID became activated for some recipients. The password was not set in section Access and recipients were added to the task. Section access filters were not applied to generated reports, so output was the same for all recipients.
