All but one values on a NPrinting filter

Hi all,

We're looking for the best way to filter all but one values of a field in a NPrinting report. We're sure than the way is to create a filter over the field, but we aren't sure about how this filter would be.

A simple approach is to create the filter and add all values except the one we don't want to show in the report. But it isn't a good approach because if in the future we add other values to this field, they won't appear in the report because they won't be on the value lists of the filter.

We think the best way is to filter values by "Evaluate value" option and insert a expresion like "Field -= value_not_to_show", but we'd read in Qlik Help than the result of the evaluation mut be an unique value, so it doesn't seem a solution.

ignore this field value in the QlikSense app data load is not a solution.

Could you help us?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Gestion-PSD ,

You are in luck 🙂 The latest version of NPrinting (July 2019) introduces Advanced Search type filters that you can use to do this very easily.

Here are some examples: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-NPrinting-Documents/Examples-of-Advanced-Search-Filters/ta-p/1594...

In the above project, lets say you want a filter that excludes all transactions for year 2018 (all but 2018). You can use a filter like this:

Date field Advanced search filter with definition =Year(Date) <> 2018

Year not 2018.png

Hi all again,

One solution is to create a new flag field in QS app with the neccesary logic (=1 if value must be showed, =0 is not) and create the NPrinting filter about that field, as we've recently read in the Community.

But we're searching for a solution in NPrinting, if it's possible, in order to not to modify QS app.

Thanks!

Hi Daniel,

Thanks!

The NPrinting version we've installed rigth now (November '18) hasn't this feature available.

We're thinking of upgrade our QS & NP servers. This is another good reason to do that.

Thanks, again.

Hello - the advanced search capability is a great addition.

I have a requirement to display the excluded value in the report. I have tried achieve this by creating various formulas but have not been able to find a way to display the excluded value.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks…Tom
