I am using NPrinting 17, release November 2018 (update to February release planned soon).
I generate a monthly report with data from the last 10 years. The report is generated for each of our locations / offices by using the location field to cycle the report. Some of these locations are no longer active and I would like to avoid an empty report being generated for them.
Is there a way to apply a filter to the cycle field?
In my QlikView application I use a flag to check if the location is / was active in my Max(Year) selected (Active_Flag). If I use this flag as a filter in NPrinting, the reports are actually only generated for my active locations but the data is also affected and only displayed for my Max(Year).
Thanks for your feedback!
Well, this is the way to go - create a flag in data model, but create a flag which will not distract your data. Solution with the flag is the best approach, but how you need to model this flag in your data model you need to know by yourself. We will not be able to tell you this without looking at your app.
Thanks, I'll Keep going in that direction.
Did you find a solution? I'm running into the same thing and am researching solutions. Thanks.
Hi Kris,
Now we have "Advanced Search" filter which allows you to deal with the problem described here. At the time of this thread there was no advanced search filters hence we had to suggest using flags.

Thanks. I'll look for that feature when we eventually upgrade.
