i am also facing same issue !

If you have resolved this issue then please let me know.

FYI my machine name is "qlikview"

Looks like NPrinting needs both (qliksense server and Nprinting) on the same domain.

Identity ID will be = DomainName\username (of Nprinting machine)

Above image is connecting to a Qlik Sense server, not QlikView, and there are significant differences between them.

Anyway, domain user means a user valid in the domain, not a local user generated to log in locally. The service account must be able to log in to other computers, therefore requiring to be a domain account, not a computer local account.

Also check in NPrinting User settings whether you have filled up Domain part for service account user

It does not need them on the same domain. I have clients who are running NPrinting in Parent company (different domain) and connecting to child company Qlik Servers (also different domain)

Verify connection errors when setting up a connection to Qlik Sense in Qlik NPrinting ‒ Qlik NPrinti...

Please check the link above,

Point number : IDENTITY

it says QS Server and NPrinting Server has to be on same Domain.

But,

If you have accomplished whole setup regardless of same domain then please let me know.. how?

any specific settings needs to be taken care of?

Indeed it is a requirement in help document. I did not notice this one-  thanks for sharing.

How I have achieved this?

  • In QlikSense QMC which is sitting in Domain A i went to UserDirectoryConnector and i have created a connection to ActiveDirectory of a Domain B
    • this brought me a list of users from domain B
  • I have looked up a NPrinting service account user on user list and I made it a Root Admin
  • I have also exported SSL certificates

The main thing is to ensure that NPrinting Service Account User can access hub which i did by simply RDP to NPrinting server opening web browser and opening QlikSense hub (which is going to URL from the other domain)

Obviously you have to make sure all ports are open between domains and all other requirements are in place.

Nprinting can be setup in two environments

1. Qliksense server and Nprinting server/engine in same domain

2. Qliksense server and Nprinting server&engine on SAME MACHINE.

IDENTITY :

case1- takes following values (Domain name\username)

case2- takes following values (Machine name\username)

user should Nprinting Service user and it should have ROOT Admin access on Qliksense server.

let me know, if above information is helpful to you.

Hi Yogesh,

Thanks for replying back!

i my case i have 2 scenario: Qliksense server and Nprinting server&engine on SAME MACHINE.

but i have used diff user account for running both the services(qliksense and Nprtinng ) i have assigned the nprinting user as a rootadmin in qliksense and used identity case 2 takes following values (Machine name\username). but unfortunately its now working.

Note: i have installed the Qliksense and Nprinting in the same machine (Windows 10)

please help me to find any alternative.

Regards,

Bhasker kumar
