Hello,
We have a NPrinting report using data from multiple QVWs. The users need the report to cycle through a Country field to produce 13 reports for 13 countries.
How is this possible for an NPrinting report made from multiple QVWs? We are using November 2017 version.
Hi,
Chanty's answer is not a cycle solution but effectively is the only way of producing in NPrinting required outcome. On top of what he said, you actually would need to create 7x13 country filters (each country for each connection) and apply all of them... It would be supper unefficient!
As NPrinting 17 does not support linked fields at the moment you cannot cycle through "linked field" value, therefore cycle functionality cannot be used.
Sorry!
cheers
Lech

you must regenerate the cache in order to see the object in the template editor.
create one app- create 7 connections -add the report which you want -create a country filter for each report ,
and schedule the same.

Hi,
Evaluate also to create a single .qvw only for reporting and connect it with Qlik NPrinting. After you will be able to use cycles because the source is unique.
Best Regards,
Ruggero

Is there any solutions for this in the future? Having multiple QVWs to maintain is not very efficient.
Hi Andrew,
In regards to Qlik's plans/roadmap for "linked fields" i am not sure.
Answering your question regarding maintaining multiple QVWs... i think long term you still need multiple QVW's to improve performance of NPrinting - see this --> QVW size limitations with NPrinting 17.
I am convinced that for NPrinting you will always need a dedicated app (as very often you have to build custom objects -with expressions serving only NPrinitng layers). This used to be easier with QlikView where you could simply hide a sheet or object, but in Qlik Sense yo udon't have this functionality so it would look odd if your app would contain charts, tables and objects which dont follow logic of the other sheets.
If you are dealing with small apps and you don't have to worry about performance putting everything into one app is also a possibility.
regardless i think it is worth splitting apps, and i admit it is additional effort, but long term will pay off with better performance.

...and move to a server environment with good hardware resources.
Hi Ruggero,
We are using NPrinting Apr 2019 (we have Qlik Sense).
We need to cycle a report which is composed of variours graphs/KPIs taken from 2 different Connections.
We want to cycle the report using a unique field (lets say "Country") which actually exists in both Qlik Sense Dashboards.
(We have the field "Country" coming from Connection1 and the field "Country" coming from Connection2")
Of course the values of the fields named "Country" are the same.
Is there a solution to cycle our report apart from creating a unique QLik Sense App?
If you need more details, do not hesitate to contact me
It will be a pleasure for me if you could let me know
Thanks
Chiara
This is not supported yet and I dont know if it will be. There is no linked fields feature in Qlik NPrinting!
Workaround is to create merged Qlik Sense data model which will contain bot models you want to cycle through
